Head and Neck

Otology

Otology is the study of the medical care of the ear, hearing, and balance. Diseases and disorders of the ear, hearing and balance can be very complex and deserve a complete evaluation by our physician specialists. Hearing loss can be due to wax buildup, fluid behind the ear drum, infection, autoimmune disorders, genetic disorders, trauma, tumors and other causes. Some causes of hearing loss are correctible with medication or surgery. Laryngology

Laryngology is the study of disorders of the throat, including voice and swallowing problems. Examples of these disorders are hoarseness, difficulty swallowing, and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). We are the first and only practice in Bloomington-Normal to offer videostroboscopy. This technology enables us to take high speed video of your vocal cords vibrating. These pictures are often necessary to make an accurate diagnosis of hoarseness and may help to diagnose cancer of the vocal cords....treatments and procedures
